Ed Martin is opening a new Nissan dealership in Anderson, IN during summer of 2014. This new and coming dealership is looking for Experienced Service Managers and Automotive Technicians to join their team. Nissan experience is preferred.
Experienced service manager are tasked with directing and coordinating activities concerned with acquisition of automotive equipment and operation and maintenance of automotive fleet repair and storage facilities by performing the following duties personally or through subordinate supervisors.
DUTIES OF SERVICE MANAGER:
Coordinates activities of personnel conducting research and testing program on automotive equipment considered for acquisition based on such factors as operational performance, costs of operation and maintenance, operational safety, and compliance with environmental laws and regulations.
Reviews and submits staff proposals for modifications to vendor or manufacturer.
Directs procurement of all types of company owned and operated automotive equipment and materials, supplies, and parts required to maintain automotive equipment, garages, and storage facilities.
Coordinates automotive repair and maintenance services to obtain maximum utilization of automotive equipment and prevent operational delays in other departments.
Manage an average number of 7 employees in the Automotive Department.
Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organizations policies and applicable laws.
QUALIFIED SERVICE MANAGERS:
Nissan experience preferred.
Must have a positive, energetic and process driven personality.
Must have a proven track record and available references.
Must have valid drivers license.
Experienced automotive technicians are tasked with repairing the most challenging and time-sensitive problems that vehicles have when they arrive at the service department.
DUTIES OF AUTOMOTIVE TECHNICIANS:
Conferring with customers or service advisors to obtain descriptions of vehicle problems, and to discuss work to be performed and future repair requirements.
Performing quality inspections of vehicle repairs prior to returning the vehicle to the customer.
Diagnosing, maintaining, and repairing vehicle automotive systems including engine, transmission, electrical, steering, suspension, braking, air conditioning, etc.
Communicating directly with the service advisor so that customers can be informed if any additional service is needed. Providing an estimate of time needed for additional repairs.
Test-driving vehicles, and testing components and systems, using equipment such as infrared engine analyzers, compression gauges and computerized diagnostic devices.
Executing repairs under warranty to manufacturer specifications.
QUALFIED AUTOMOTIVE TECHNICIANS :
Must have some level of instructor led automotive training (e.g. high school automotive, vocational, college, technical school, OEM, etc.)
Must have working knowledge of shop equipment such as wheel and tire equipment, alignment system, diagnostic equipment, AC equipment, etc.
Must have valid drivers license.
